COMMON QUESTIONS

Clarity before
you commit time.

How do I replace my contractor qualifier?

Start with your trade, state, current licensing position and planned transition date. DC ConServ reviews qualifier placement needs, documentation and the responsibilities involved before discussing an arrangement. Availability and licensing approval are assessed separately for each jurisdiction.

What does a qualifying agent do?

A qualifying agent has responsibilities connected to a business’s contractor license. The required relationship, supervision and ongoing duties vary by state and trade. We review the applicable role and business structure before discussing placement.

What does a first review cover?

We start with your trade, state, current licensing position, and reason for seeking a qualifier. The review identifies the information needed to assess whether DC ConServ can assist.

Do you support contractor qualifiers in all 50 states?

Yes. DC ConServ assists businesses and qualified license holders across all 50 states and multiple trades. We support qualifier placement, replacement and multi-state licensing coordination. Each engagement is assessed against the applicable trade and jurisdiction requirements and available qualifiers; nationwide assistance does not mean immediate placement in every classification.

What do RME and Licensed Qualifying Agent mean?

Qualifying roles differ by jurisdiction. Responsible Managing Employee (RME), Responsible Managing Officer (RMO) and qualifying agent describe roles you may encounter; their eligibility and ongoing responsibilities are not interchangeable. DC ConServ reviews the relevant trade, business structure and jurisdiction before discussing a proposed arrangement.

Is this support for businesses and organizations?

Yes. Start with your organization’s trade licensing need, whether you are establishing operations, replacing a qualifier, or coordinating expansion. Corporate licensing support here concerns trade licensing and qualifying arrangements; the scope is confirmed before work begins.

What should I prepare?

Bring basic business context, your intended state or states, the trade classification if known, and your timing. Do not send license numbers or confidential documents in the initial inquiry.

How long does the process take?

Timing depends on the scope, documentation, relevant authority, and the situation under review. Next steps are discussed after the first review.
